Fulbright Scholarship Recipient 2002:  Selected by the US and Japanese governments. Collaborated  with an artist/teacher in Japan to a create a mural on canvas that was requested by the White House for the Presidential Library in the White House 

Disney Teacher Award 2004:  One of 39 winners from 150,000 nominees across America and the only teacher to represent The Fine Arts

USA Today Teacher of the Year 2006:  Awarded for Excellence in Teaching 

Robert Rauschenberg Power of Art Award 2001 : Represented New York as one of 50 artists/ art educators selected by Rauschenberg to study with him and James Rosenquist at the Lab School in Washington, DC 

New York State Art Teacher of the Year/Long Island 2000: Awarded for "Professional Excellence in the Field of Art Education"

New York Academy for Teaching and Learning Award 2003:  In recognition of lessons that served as exemplars for the New York State Standards in Visual Arts 

Building Bridges with Art Award 2010: A grant for collaborative art paintings that brought together artists from different ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds
